Auto repair means finding out why your vehicle isn't running, driving or stopping the way it should, and then fixing that problem properly. We handle the whole vehicle: engine diagnostics and repair, cooling systems, heating and A/C, electrical problems, brakes, suspension, differentials, and transmission repair and rebuilds. Cars, trucks, SUVs and fleet vehicles, all makes and models.
Most repairs start with a symptom. A warning light, a new noise, a leak in the driveway, a vehicle that's down on power or slow to start. The symptom tells us where to look, not what's wrong. A check engine light, for example, can come from a failing sensor, an emissions fault or a real mechanical problem, and the code alone doesn't say which. So we test before we replace anything. That keeps you from paying for parts that were never the problem.
Driving around Missoula is hard on a vehicle. Mountain grades, towing, long highway stretches and harsh winters all wear things out sooner than easy, mild-weather driving does. Big temperature swings work on hoses, thermostats and the rest of the cooling system. Long climbs load up the engine and transmission. Cold mornings are tough on batteries and starters. We keep all of that in mind when we look a vehicle over and when we talk about what to fix first.
Before any work starts, we tell you what we found, what we recommend and what it will cost. When there's more than one issue, we separate what needs attention now from what can wait, so you can plan instead of getting surprised. If we find something else once we're into the job, we'll let you know before doing more. You decide what gets done.
Transmissions are part of our name, and we handle everything from fluid service to complete rebuilds. But a transmission is one system in a vehicle full of them, and we work on all of them the same way: find the cause, explain it, then fix it.
Routine work belongs here too. Preventive maintenance and oil changes are the easiest way to catch small problems before they turn into big ones, and they give us a chance to spot wear early.
Not sure what's going on? When you call or book, tell us what you're seeing, hearing or smelling and when it happens. The more detail you give us, the better our starting point.
