Auto Electrical Repair In Missoula.
Dead batteries, slow starts, flickering lights or a warning light that comes and goes. We test the battery, charging system and wiring to find the real cause.
Tracking down electrical problems
Electrical repair covers the systems that start your vehicle, keep it charged and power everything from the headlights to the computers that run the engine. That includes the battery, alternator, starter, wiring, fuses, relays, grounds, sensors and control modules. Modern vehicles carry a lot of wiring and electronics, so an electrical problem can show up in places you wouldn't expect.
Common signs include a slow or clicking start, a battery that keeps dying, headlights or dash lights that dim or flicker, a battery or charging warning light, fuses that keep blowing, and power windows, locks or gauges that work one day and not the next. Some electrical faults also set a check engine light or change how the engine or transmission behaves.
Electrical problems are where guessing gets expensive. A dead battery might be a bad battery, or it might be an alternator that isn't charging, a corroded connection or something drawing power after the vehicle is shut off. Putting in a new battery without finding the cause can leave you with another dead battery soon after. We test the battery, the charging system and the starter, then trace the wiring to find the actual fault.
Missoula winters make all of this harder. A cold battery delivers less starting power, and a cold engine takes more effort to turn over. A battery or starter that was getting by in the fall is often the one that quits on the first really cold morning. If your vehicle has been slow to start, have it tested before the cold sets in.
Intermittent problems take patience. A fault that only shows up when it's cold, wet or bouncing down a rough road can be hard to catch in the shop. The more you can tell us about when it happens, the easier it is to narrow down.
Once we find the problem, we explain what failed and why, give you the cost to fix it and let you decide. If the fix turns out to be simple, like cleaning a corroded connection, we'll tell you that too.
Problems we fix
Slow crank or clicking at startup
Usually the battery, a poor connection or the starter. Testing tells us which one it is.
Battery keeps dying
Could be an aging battery, an alternator that isn't charging, or something draining power while the vehicle sits.
Battery warning light on
That light usually points to the charging system, not the battery itself. Get it checked before the battery runs flat.
Dim or flickering lights
Lights that dim at idle or flicker can mean a weak alternator, a failing battery or a loose or corroded ground.
Fuses that keep blowing
A fuse that blows again after you replace it means something on that circuit is shorted or drawing too much. A bigger fuse is never the fix.
Things that work, then don't
Power windows, locks, gauges or lights that come and go usually point to a wiring, connector or switch problem.

Excellent Service! I took my car to them for a full transmission fluid flush and refill, brake fluid full flush and replace, and an oil change. These are Good People. They do Great Work for a Fraction of the Price the Dealership wanted to charge me. They are now my go to shop.Mike W. · Google
I’ve got both my suspension and my clutch replaced in my WRX by them, and they were super quick! Quoted me up to a week both times, but I got my car back within 2 days, both times. Really great work!!

John is a top-notch mechanic and an honest person. Instead of charging me for a lot of parts that I didn’t need, he told me he couldn’t diagnose the exact spot in my suspension that was making noise. We agreed that I would drive my car a little longer and see if it gets worse. He used suspension ears and spent a lot of time trying to diagnose my car. Many shops would’ve just told me I needed struts and would’ve charged the normal labor and mark up on parts. He might not have solved my problem but kudos to John and his team for not just throwing parts at it. I would HIGHLY recommend them if you’re looking for a trustworthy shop in the Missoula area.Tony D. · Google
